Having a mentor that has shaped thru the changes from the 60s and on thru today, has helped inspire me to learn and have a foundation in design and educate me on design evolution. my dad was at the forefront of design with the shortboard revolution and I hope to be a part of the modern day shortboard resurgence. growing up on Oahu  I got to ride so many different styles of surfboards,longboards at Makaha and Waikiki,shortboards at Bowls and Haleiwa, then on to Pipe,Sunset and my favorite wave,Backdoor. these experiences on so many different designs have helped bridge my surfing and shaping. as a surfer and a shaper I try to bring together the design,craftsmanship and performance of surfboards. to look aesthetically nice is ok, but i feel responsiveness, reaction and performance is just as if not more important.i enjoy shaping surfboards, designs are constantly evolving and I am challenged finding ways to bring advancements to modern surfboard designs. the sport and lifestyle of surfing is all about fun,what other sport can you think of that you can order a custom designed vehicle or craft that you get so much use and enjoyment from?
